There's nothing nicer than settling down with some cosy comfort food when it's chilly outside. It's what winter nights are made for! We follow some pretty epic food bloggers on Instagram, and their latest recipe posts have answered all our comfort food prayers. Check out our favourite winter recipes below, and click on each picture to find out more info!
@amysheppardfood | Cheesy Lentil Hotpot
We are BIG fans of @amysheppardfood here at OFFCUTS HQ and her new HOB cookbook is packed with amazingly easy to cook recipes. This cheesy lentil hotpot is a winner for a filling mid-week meal, or a great recipe to add to your Meat-Free Monday rotation.
@kitchensantuary | Chicken Casserole
Nicky's @kitchensanctuary Instagram page and blog are both full of flavoursome hearty recipes. This slow cooker chicken casserole is one of the nicest Sunday dinner recipes about (tested by yours truly) and only takes a minimal amount of prep (always a winner).
@fitwafflekitchen | Gooey S 'Mores Bars
If you have a sweet tooth then the @fitwafflekitchen Instagram page will definitely be a bit of you. A grid loaded with fudgey blondies, rich chocolate brownie recipes, cookies, traybakes and more - and the full ingredients list and recipe video is included in each post too!
@lilandlife | Leek and Bacon Mac & Cheese
Lillie Farrow is an absolute wizard in the kitchen, and every single recipe she posts on her @lilandlife Instagram page is 100% drool worthy. This mac and cheese recipe puts a tasty spin on a comfort food classic - and even sneaks in some extra veggies for the kids.
@deliciouslyella | Sweet Potato & Black Bean Shepherds Pie
No-one makes plant-based living look as amazing as @deliciouslyella. Her Instagram page, blog and lifestyle app are bursting with incredible plant-based recipes for the whole family to enjoy, and you can also shop her fully vegan food range in most UK major supermarkets and health shops.
@slimmingeats | Instant Pot Lamb Bhuna
Nothing screams comfort food to us brits more than a warming curry at the weekend. This easy lamb bhuna fakeaway by Siobhan over at @slimmingeats is going to quickly become one of your favourite homemade curry recipes. Serve it up with hot toasted naans and fluffy rice. A bottle of ice cold Stella alongside is totally optional, but I'd highly recommend it.
@lucy_and_lentils | Tahini & Date Syrup Sweet Rolls
I stumbled across @lucy_and_lentils when I was looking for some 'meat-free' cooking inspiration, and I'm so glad I clicked that follow button. Not only are her stories hilarious, but her recipes are so easy to follow and they're super versatile too. A warm batch of these tahini and date sweet syrup rolls with a fresh pot of coffee is sure to score you extra brownie points for Sunday brunch.
@saltandlavender | Swedish Meatballs
To be honest I count a trip to IKEA at the weekend as a date, so it doesn't take much to convince me to stop mid-shop for a plate of meatballs. BUT - being able to make my very own at home does save me a small fortune in unnecessary Fejka and candle purchases. This gorgeous recipe from @saltandlavender tastes just as good as the real deal (or dare I say it, even better??), and they're great served with buttery mash and crisp green veggies.
